Brand Immersion Experience

car2go is a busy place. Between growing the brand and innovating new solutions to the carsharing market, it’s easy to lose track of the company’s history and where it comes from. 

car2go was created by Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz and one of largest auto manufacturers in the world. For employees who don’t interact with Daimler or its affiliates on a regular basis, it can be hard to feel that connection to the bigger automotive picture.

With the introduction of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, though, car2go North America employees are now able to attend a best-in-class program that Mercedes-Benz created to showcase the technology, heritage, and innovation of the Mercedes-Benz brand.  It is called the Brand Immersion Experience program, or BIX.

Why BIX?

For car2go employees, going to BIX gives them a way to not only connect with the affiliate companies and learn about Mercedes-Benz, but it gives employees an opportunity to learn about how they create exceptional customer experiences at every brand touchpoint.

From dealerships across the United States to corporate employees at multiple Mercedes-Benz corporate affiliates, everyone lives by the phrase “Driven to Delight”.

What do employees do during the program?

During the program, attendees are flown to Birmingham, Alabama, where Mercedes-Benz US International, and the vehicle manufacturing plant, is located.

Attendees are then given a private tour of the manufacturing plant and brand center, lead through innovative discussions on customer experience and technology, and finally driven to the Barber Motorsports Park to take a tour of the largest private collection of motorcycles in the world. And that’s just day one!

On Day two, attendees are brought back to the Motorsports Park to take part in multiple driving activities, including racing AMG’s on an autocross track, testing the autonomous braking and parallel parking technologies, driving on an off-road course, and racing SMART cars to name a few! It is an experience of a lifetime.

So far, car2go has had 9 employees go through the program, and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Giving employees a chance to connect with car2go’s prestigious heritage has given them a new perspective on how car2go fits into the bigger picture.
